Essential footway resurfacing work will take place on the A73 Westport, Lanark, for up to four days from Monday (21 September).

To ensure safety for workers and pedestrians, temporary lights will be in place for motorists between no. 22 and its junction with Jerviswood Road, between 9:30 am and 3:30 pm daily for the duration of the project.

Colin Park, Head of Roads, Transportation, and Fleet Services, said: “The footway improvements in Westport are essential to improve the surface for all users. In this case, temporary traffic management is needed on the road too, to ensure the safety of the team on site.

“We fully appreciate the inconvenience the work might cause and thank the community in advance for their patience and cooperation, and ask motorists to build in additional journey time if they can.”
